Lovington Public Library The Library was founded in 1931 with a collection of 100 books. Today the library houses approximately 49,000 items including books, periodicals, cassette tapes, videocassettes, cd's and dvd's. During a typical week, over 100 people use the library daily, and check-outs have exceeded 75,000 each of the the past two years. Computers offer many resources including Internet access. Programs and services provided by the library include a weekly Storytime, summer reading program, interlibrary loan and book reserves, public copier and fax, phone-in reference, and delivery of library materials to the homebound.
Senior Citizens Center The Senior Center's main goal is to provide service to the elderly by helping them to maintain an independent way of life. The center provides home delivered meals five days a week to inable shut- ins to remain at home rather than having to go to a nursing home. The center works with local doctors and home health care providers to reach the frail & elderly persons. The center provides information and assistance in matters of social secutity, SSI, food stamps, taxes insurance, legal aid and other available programs. The center also provides congregate meals three days a week, recreational and entertainment in pleasant setting, exercise for a healthier life, adult education classes and other activities.
The Lovington Activity Center The objective of the center is to maintain a healthy and fun environment for both our youth and the general public. The center provides service for all types of functions with the addition of the multi-purpose gym facility. The most important function of the center is to actively involve the youth. The full time Youth Director, Jami Bailey, has helped, tremendously, in developing responsibility, self-respect and leadership, among the youth that attend and stay involved.
Parks and Recreation The City operates and maintains five city parks, one swimming pool, eleven baseball fields, numerious practice fields for little league and one shooting range.
Lea County Museum (at Lovington) The Museum is housed in the old Plaza Hotel which was built in 1918. The upstairs rooms are designated for families and special exhibits. The downstairs area displays items of history and nostalgia. The Love family donated the original Love home, one of the first homes in Lovington. The McClish family donated the roof of a dugout of early Lea County origin. The first windmill was given by the late Phil Smith, and Hazel Berry donated an early day oil pump. The Museum has a lot of Lea County and Lovington history showing.

Nor-Lea General Hospital 1600 N. Main (505)396-6611 Residents of northern Lea County have been served by Nor-Lea General Hospital for the past 16 years. The hospital has been in full operation thanks to a 4.0-mil levy. enabling the community access to quality medical services. Managed by Lubbock Methodist Hospital System, the Nor-Lea Hospital District is governed by an elected body consisting of five local residents.
Lovington Good Samaritan Center 17th & Ave. I (505)396-5212 The Good Samaritan Center is a 62 bed facility. Since Opening its doors in 1970, the center has been a vital part of the community. Owned and operated by the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society, a Christian non-profit organization based in Sioux Falls, S.D., the center provides 24 hour nursing service. Residents are under the care of a physician of their choice.
Other In addition, the City of Lovington has four (4) doctors, two (2) chiropractors, three (3) dentists. At-home nursing services are available, as well as trained emergency transportation available for ground or air.
